What is the Kiosk View?

When looking at records in either the Sites or Rooms sections, you may have noticed the Kiosk View button on the right side of the window, but not ever been sure of what it does.

Kiosk View is actually a special web-based timetable view for the site or room record you’re viewing.

If you click the button on a Site view, it will show you an organised, read-only view of all the classes taking place at that site for the rest of the day onwards. Similarly, if you click the button on a Room record, it will show you a read-only view of all the classes taking place in that room for the rest of the day.

It shows the name of the site or room, and then a list of the upcoming classes happening that day, and the times they start. It was designed for sites that might have informational TV’s on display at the site, or even for use on small screens outside individual rooms.

All you need to do in order to get the Kiosk View to display on an external screen is make sure that screen is somehow connected to the internet, and then using its onboard browser, go to the URL that’s generated at the top of the view page. The screen will then display the page for all your on-campus students.
